Allocation of funds in the period 2018/19 – 2021/2022
After the enactment of the NG-CDF Amendment Act 2016, the projects eligible for funding under the National Government NG-CDF, were reviewed to align with the Constitution of Kenya of 2010. In the spirit of devolution enshrined in the constitution, the NG-CDF Amendment Act 2016, stipulates that the Act shall only fund projects falling within the functions of the National Government as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya.
The Fund therefore focused primary on education infrastructure, bursaries and security infrastructure. Other sectors such as sports, environment and other national government residual functions are allocated a maximum of 4% of the total budget.
